Rule of Thirds

This image [left] is a good example of the Rule of Thirds The wheel arch of the car is in the bottom right intersect of the frame and the tower is close to the left hand vertical line. (The lines were added in Photoshop)

This Image [Right] is not so well framed, the subject of the image, the plug (as mundane as it is) is in the center of the frame. I have cropped it in photoshop so the plug appears in the top right side of the frame... This makes the image look alot more effective. I have also kept the wires in the frame because it shows the level of Depth of Field in the image. [below]
The lines on the image are only rough and not the exact rule of thirds. They are just added so you 'the viewer' gets the idea.

Group Images

This image is a good example of Lines. The cement lines between the bricks are very prominent.

This image is a good example of colours. There is a very noticeable contrast between the bright red of the car and the dark grey of the clouds in the sky.
This image has very good textures. There is a contrast between the roughness of the lichen (green stuff) and the smoothness of the wet mud on the ground.
This image has very good patterns. The stairs go down 3 floors and spiral downwards. The building is not tall enough to have an 'infinite' seeming loop going downwards, but this is just as effective.

Can you make a photo look interesting?

This is an image that I have purposely framed incorrectly. I have introduced a lot of the background into the image which has made it very busy and cluttered

This is the same image, but here I have recomposed using the crop tool and blurred the background slightly to make me more in focus. I have also altered the levels of the image in photoshop [see histogram image].
